Big Unit pulls off perfect game

Forty year old Arizona Diamondback pitcher Randy Johnson became just the 17th player in MLB history to pitch a perfect game. He also became just the 5th player to have pitched a no hitter and a perfect game in his career. Johnson has dominated baseball for over a decade and his latest performance shows that he still has more to give. With the resurgence of Roger Clemens in Houston and Bonds' continued success in San Francisco, the forty plus club has some very dominating players.

Chalk one up for the pitchers

The last decade or so in baseball has been dominated by offense - juiced balls and juiced players = more homeruns. Ben Sheets of the Milwaukee Brewers put in a rare pitching gem the other night, striking out 18 batters in a game, the most since 2001. The major league record was not far off at 20 strikeouts in a nine inning game, held by Randy Johnson, Kerry Wood and Roger Clemens.
