Interleague play begins

It was back in 1997 that MLB decided to institute interleague play. Before that, atleast as far as I could remember, the only way an American League team could play a National League team would be in the World Series championship. Once again today, interleague play begins for this season. In my opinion, this change has not only created some interesting rivalries (Yankees vs Mets, White Sox vs Cubs, Blue Jays vs Expos, etc) but has in general added something to keep fans interested through a long 162 game baseball season.
