Victor Conte denies dealing designer 'roids to Barry Bonds
Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO (Bay area laboratory co-operative) has denied supplying MLB slugger Barry Bonds with performance enhancing drugs. He did so in a recent interview with the TV reporters outside a San Francisco courthouse. This comes as sprinter and Conte client Tim Montgomery testified before a grand jury that Conte had said he supplied Bonds with steroids.
As an aside, many fitness enthusiasts who used to visit popular weight training newsgroups in the late 1990s would clearly remember Victor Conte pushing his ZMA supplement to anyone who would listed on the newsgroups.
Robb Nen has another setback
The San Francisco Giants sent closer Robb Nen home for another month as he tries to recover his injured right shoulder. Nen is trying to recover from three shoulder operations that forced him to miss the entire 2003 season. He hasn't thrown off a mound since mid-April. He does not have any inflamation in his shoulder but it is believed that Nen won't be able to pitch this year.
