Will the Bronx Bombers abandon Yankee stadium?
Recent news reports state that New York Yankees are looking to construct a new stadium right across the street from Yankee stadium. The new stadium could run in the neighborhood of $750 million with about $450 million being spent for public infrastructure. What is going to be of concern to baseball fans and baseball historians is what might happen to the current Yankee stadium? There is a lot of history in the house that Ruth built, so I am not sure if the Bronx Bombers can just move out and tear the old house down.
Giambi may be ailing from serious disease
New York Yankees slugger Jason Giambi is awaiting medical results to determine whether he is suffering from a potentially serious intestinal parasite based disease. Giambi has been complaining about feeling weak this season and has missed a large number of games this season. The All-Star first baseman is being tested for a dangerous parasite called entamoeba histolytica. His teammate Kevin Brown has been sidelined since June 9 with a lower back spasms and an affliction of intestinal parasite, though he is expected back this week. It is still not clear how Giambi may have come in contact with this parasite and his status for this year if he does test positive.
