Fines and suspensions after Rockies and Pirates brawl

Brawls and fights are not that common in baseball, so when one occurs it usually catches somewhat of the spotlight. Colorado Rockies pitcher Joe Kennedy and Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Jason Kendell were suspended 5 and 4 games respectively for their parts in a bench clearing brawl last Sunday. They were also fined an undisclosed amount. The incident started when Kennedy hit Kendall in the arm and both began yelling and ended up in the benches clearing and a wrestling match on the field. Both players are expected to appeal their suspensions.
