Big names opt for free agency
The World Series excitement had just settled down when a barrage of MLB players began opting for free agency. Some of the more big name players include Carlos Beltran of the Houston Astros, Adrian Beltre of the LA Dodgers, Carlos Delgado of the Toronto Blue Jays, Chris Carpenter of the St Louis Cardinals, Matt Clement and Nomar Garciaparra of the Chicago Cubs, Jermaine Dye of the Kansas City Royals, and Troy Glaus of the Anaheim Angles of Los Angeles.
